James Brolin Reveals 'Best Investment' He Made in Barbra Streisand Marriage
James Brolin and Barbra Streisand have been married since 1998, and yet, their romance has show no signs of slowing down.
Brolin, 84, opened up about his relationship with Streisand while on NBC's "Today." He shared his secret to being married for well over two decades. It turns out it all comes down to investing in the bedroom.
The "Marcus Welby, M.D." actor revealed that he and Streisand invested in a quality mattress. Apparently, that decision has really helped them remain happy over the years.
"The best investment we’ve ever made is our mattress," Brolin said. "And don’t misunderstand me. We’re both lazy. We love to sleep late. We do a lot of our work on the phone, on paper, reading, right next to each other."
That wasn't the only tip Brolin handed out during his appearance on "Today." He acknowledged that tempers could flare from time to time, so it's important for couples to simply go outside and take a walk.
"You learn to take a walk. Both of us, not just me," Brolin continued. "I just think you gotta say, 'Okay, take a deep breath, take a walk.' Because animals do the same thing, you know? Humans do it to each other, animals do it to each other."
Back in August 2021, Streisand said listening to your partner is the key to having a healthy relationship. At the time, she didn't mention anything about investing in a great mattress.
"The secret is to listen carefully," she said, via NBC News. "I think to be a good actor, you have to listen. To be a good person, you have to listen. To be a good marriage partner, you have to listen. Hear the other person. Agree to disagree."
Brolin and Streisand have been together since their blind date in 1996. Suffice to say, they were a perfect match.
