Details Emerge From Haley Joel Osment's Arrest in California
"The Sixth Sense" actor Haley Joel Osment was arrested last week at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area resort in California. Over the past 24 hours, details about his arrest have come to light.
Osment was arrested by the Mammoth Lakes Police Department on April 8 for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance. He's no longer in custody, and the Mono County District Attorney's Office has not yet revealed if he'll face charges.
The Mammoth Lakes Police Department described the 37-year-old actor as an "unruly skier." Well, we finally received some context as to why.
On Thursday, TMZ released footage from Osment's incident at the California ski resort. It starts off with him trying to get on the ski lift without his snowboard. A female crew member tried to remove him from the line, but that didn't exactly work.
Towards the end of the video, you can hear fellow skiers getting frustrated with Osment's antics. As if that wasn't bad enough, Osment was accused of "reeking like alcohol."
From TMZ:
BTW ... this all happened after a resort guest encouraged him to get out of line by tugging on him, which caused them both to take a tumble, according to an eyewitness.
A clip of Haley finally walking out of the queue shows a slight smirk on his face ... and an eyewitness tells TMZ he strolled over to his snowboard and "fumbled around with it."
The bystander also says he absolutely reeked of alcohol.
Back in 2006, Osment was arrested for driving under the influence. He pleaded no contest and received three years of probation, a $1,500 fine, and 60 hours in an alcohol rehab program.
Osment, who appeared in the 2024 film "Blink Twice," has not released a statement on his recent arrest.
