Gwen Stefani Names Biggest Key to Her Marriage with Blake Shelton
If you're looking for relationship advice, Gwen Stefani has you covered.
Back in 2014, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton met on the set of "The Voice." They were both coaches for that season. At that time, the "Hollaback Girl" singer was married to Gavin Rossdale. As for Shelton, he was married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.
Speculation about Stefani and Shelton dating first surfaced in 2015. They confirmed the rumors by making their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in February 2016. A little over five years later, they got married at Shelton's ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
Stefani and Shelton are still going strong at this point in time. That could be due to some advice she received earlier in life.
During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" this week, Stefani shared that advice with a national audience.
"Make sure you have a third party," Stefani said.
Most people assumed that Stefani was referring to God since she pointed a finger to the sky after making this comment.
While a "third party" has certainly helped Stefani, it doesn't hurt that she shares similar morals and interests with her husband.
"Finding a best friend, someone that is on the same plane when it comes to morals, or just the way you look at life, that's the dream," Stefani said in 2022. "We think the same about things, yet we're so different. Like, he's watching football and doing his stuff that he does, and I'm putting makeup on. We're so different, yet we're so the same on so many levels."
