'SNL' Announces Big Scarlett Johansson News Ahead of 'Jurassic World Rebirth'
Saturday Night Live is going big with its final guest host for the 50th season, and it's also a familiar face.
Scarlett Johansson will be closing out the milestone year on May 17 ahead of her big summer movie, Jurassic World Rebirth. While the highly anticipated film won't be released until July 2, it's not a surprise that the 40-year-old actress is hosting the show again.
In addition to being the wife of Colin Jost, the former head writer of SNL and current co-anchor of Weekend Update, Johansson is a favorite of show creator Lorne Michaels. The May 2025 hosting gig will be her seventh appearance, outside of her many cameos. — and yes, she's a member of the Five-Timers Club.

Johansson does have her limits, though. She was the butt of a "really gross" joke written by Jost's Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che for their annual Christmas joke swap.
“It was so vulgar,” she told InStyle in late March. “I just can’t believe that they went there. I was like—it was so gross. It was really gross. And, like, old-school gross.”
The joke read by her husband went like this: “Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from its menu. But I ain’t trippin’. I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid.”
Johansson was part of the bit as she stood on the other side of the studio watching the whole thing unfold with cameras on her, waiting for her reaction.
"I felt insane. I was like, I think I’m going to faint," she added. "My experience of it was so funny." She had been warned that there was a "vagina joke," but she didn't realize it until it was too late. Still, she knows it's all a part of the SNL game — and she loves it.
Bad Bunny will be the musical guest on the May 17 episode with Johansson. Quinta Brunson with Benson Boone will appear on May 3 and Walton Goggins with Arcade Fire will be a part of the May 10 episode.
