Morrisons recalls sausages over fears they contain pieces of blue plastic
Morrisons is urgently recalling one of its most popular meat products over fears it ‘may contain small pieces of blue plastic’.
All 400g packs of Morrisons The Best Thick Cumberland Sausages with a ‘use by’ date of May 1st are to be taken off shelves following the discovery.
Shoppers who bought a pack of the bangers have been urged to ‘not eat it’ and can return them for a full refund.
They won’t need a receipt to receive the refund, Morrisons said.
In a statement, the supermarket added: ‘No other products are affected by this issue.
‘We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.’
The Food Standards Agency said: ‘Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.
‘These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.’
