Duke Recruiting: A New Name Emerges
This is intriguing
As you know, Duke has retained a big chunk of its roster from this past season, but will still need add players. Another name has emerged which is intriguing: former West Virginia commit Braydon Hawthorne.
A 6-8 forward, he’s a fringe Top 100 commit but as always, as Matt Painter argues, other than a handful of player at the top the ratings are a crap shoot and should be mostly ignored.
No one rated Walter Clayton very highly. No one rated Joseph Tugler very highly. People liked Kon Knueppel, but if you know someone who had him pegged as a possible lottery pick this time last year, please let us know.
The truth is that you don’t know until you know and someone like Hawthorne could have something to his game that most people don't realize. We’ll see how he does in college.
Here’s Duke’s roster as of now. We added Cameron Sheffield, who we thought was out of eligibility when he actually has one more year. In practice, we could see Cameron guarding Cameron in Cameron!
