Shedeur Sanders Falls Victim to Cruel Prank Call Amid NFL Draft Disaster
Shedeur Sanders has had a disappointing couple of days as the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was expected to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but was not even selected in the first three rounds. To make matters worse, he fell victim to a cruel prank as he waited for a call from an NFL team.
On Friday night, after already suffering a disappointing fall out of the first round on Thursday night, Sanders was waiting to receive a call from an NFL team selecting him in the second or third round of the NFL Draft.
While on a livestream from what looked to be an NFL Draft event with friends and family, Sanders received a call from what he thought was a representative from an NFL team.
Sanders was all smiles as he answered the phone to speak to someone who claimed they were Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis.
"It's Mickey Loomis here, GM of the Saints," the voice said on the phone.
"Been waiting on you," Sanders responded.
"It's been a long wait, man. We're going to take you with our next pick right here, man," the person on the phone said.
"Yes, sir. Let's be legendary," Sanders responded.

Prank caller acted like New Orleans Saints GM Micky Loomis and told Shedeur Sanders they were gonna take him until his family found out it was one big troll

That smile quickly turned to confusion when the caller told him that he would “have to wait a little longer,” and the call seemingly ended.
“What does that mean?” Sanders said as he put his phone away.
Everyone else gathered around Sanders expressed their frustration and disappointment at the apparent prank.
"I don't know what that was," Sanders said, adding that nobody knows that number to be able to prank call him.
Clearly, the call was not from a representative of an NFL team looking to select him as Sanders ultimately went undrafted on Friday night, too, falling out of the second and third rounds after initially expecting to be selected in the first round on Thursday night.
It's undoubtedly been a disappointing turn of events for Sanders, but he has kept it as classy as possible in his responses, even after the cruel prank.
