In-N-Out Burger Teases East Coast Expansion
Many East Coast residents have long hoped for an In-N-Out Burger restaurant to open near them.
Might that happen? In-N-Out Burger just made a major tease.
"In-N-Out is building a distribution center in Tennessee, estimated to be completed in early 2026. In-N-Out will consider opening stores further east once it has a patty-making facility within 300 miles of any new restaurant. There’s hope for the East Coast," the fast-food restaurant chain wrote on its X page on April 24, 2025.
That got the hopes up for the restaurant chain's fans.
"Any information on potential franchise opportunities for interested parties?" a man wrote in the moment thread.
In-N-Out Burger responded, "In-N-Out is privately owned and doesn’t franchise restaurants."
Other fans of the chain offered suggestions for East Coast locations. "My son in North Carolina will be thrilled!" wrote one person on X.
"Florida and then South Florida needs some locations," wrote another person.
"Take it to the East Coast," responded another fan.
In 2023, Restaurant Business reported that In-N-Out Burger was opening its first "East Coast Territory Office" in Tennessee.
"The fast-food chain will start opening restaurants in the state in 2026, potentially opening up more growth East of the Mississippi," Restaurant Business wrote.
Restaurant Business called the company a "staunchly West Coast brand."
However, in 2024, the granddaughter of the company founders said on TODAY that there were no plans to expand eastward, according to All Recipes.
The location map for In-N-Out Burger shows the company firmly located on the West Coast and in Texas and Arizona.
