‘American Pickers’ Star Mike Wolfe Left ‘Overwhelmed’ Amid Show Hiatus
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe said goodbye to his shop in Nashville on April 26.
"Mike and the crew were totally overwhelmed and beyond grateful for yesterday’s turn out @antiquearchaeology," read the caption of an Instagram post shared on Wolfe's feed on April 27.
Antique Archaeology sold various items, including "rusty gold, apparel, and home decor," according to the store's bio on Instagram.
"Y’all came out in a big way to share stories and say so long to this little shop. Today is the last day we will be open we will be breaking down the shop tomorrow and moving most all of it to @visitleclaire IOWA. If you haven’t already stop by to say hello and grab something WELL Come on! This isn’t goodbye it’s see you down the road In IOWA and online," the rest of the post read.
Fans took to the comments section to share their love and support for Wolfe and to wish him well on his future endeavors.
"I'm going to miss you guys! You've been such a of wonderful part of of the very best of Nashville. Can't wait to see what you get into next," one person wrote.
"So happy I got there last week from one of your biggest fans My your next chapter be as much fun as this one, You bring people together talking about their favorite picks learning from an icon Love ya Mike. Keep the finds alive," someone else said.
Earlier this month, Wolfe announced the decision to close the store.
"Well, Nashville… it’s time," Wolfe captioned an Instagram post on April 18. "After nearly 15 amazing years, we’ve made the tough decision to close the doors of our Antique Archaeology store here in Music City."
Wolfe is in the middle of a hiatus from American Pickers, though he does plan to resume filming the show before the end of the year.
"For 15 years, we have just been going and going and going. I think we're going to have at least four or five months off, so it's going to be good," he told People magazine in March.
