Bill Belichick Has Odd Response on Leaving Robert Kraft Out of New Book
Bill Belichick has a new book coming out called The Art of Winning: Lessons From My Life in Football that's scheduled to release on May 20.
Naturally, with a major book release right around the corner, a ramped-up promotional media tour is basically inevitable.
One can only imagine how Belichick might feel about partaking in such a thing that has the potential to turn into a circus, but it's very likely the storied head coach knew exactly what he was getting into by writing his first book.
Regardless, it's safe to say the book's promotion is off to a roaring viral start following Belichick's interview with Tony Dokoupil on CBS Sunday Morning.
Since it had already been reported that Belichick made zero mention of Patriots owner Robert Kraft in the book, Dokoupil understandably felt obliged to inquire further.
"I have to ask about Robert Kraft because, 24 years together, six Super Bowls. Unless I'm wrong, he's not in this book," Dokoupil said at the five-minute mark of the following clip. "How come?"
"He's not," Belichick replied. "Well again, it's about my life lessons in football and it's really more about the ones that I experienced directly."

After Dokoupil followed up by mentioning that Kraft failed to even make the acknowledgements section of the book, Belichick—in what felt like an eternal pause—finally replied, saying "correct" while shaking his head.
To provide some significant context, there are 363 people thanked in the acknowledgements, including a shoutout to 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson that read as follows:
"Thank you to my idea mill and creative muse, Jordon Hudson."
So, yes, it does seem a little odd for Belichick to have omitted the owner of the franchise that together, along with Tom Brady—arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play the game—helped turn the Patriots into a dynasty over the span of two decades, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy six times.
From there, things generally seemed to get increasingly awkward.
After Belichick went on to offer up some relatively confusing responses to Dokoupil as to how his departure from the Patriots went down, the interview reached an especially bizarre point when it came to questions about his current relationship with Hudson and how the two initially met.

Hudson, who was apparently "a constant presence" throughout the interview, shut that topic down instantaneously, sternly telling Dokoupil, "We're not talking about this [how they met]."
As awkward as the majority of the near eight-minute interview may have come across for at least some viewers, it didn't exactly stray too far from the head coach's all-too-familiar, stoic brand of speaking to the media.
And, as ESPN's Seth Wickersham pointed out, we may have ourselves a brand new meme on our hands thanks to Belichick's distinctly flat delivery of "Correct."
