Brad Pitt & 'Conclave' Director Team Up for Film Adaptation of This Best-Selling Novel
Brad Pitt is teaming with Conclave director Edward Berger for an adaptation of Tom Winton’s best-selling novel The Riders for A24, Deadline reports.
"After traveling through Europe for two years, Scully and his wife Jennifer wind up in Ireland, and on a mystical whim of Jennifer’s, buy an old farmhouse which stands in the shadow of a castle. While Scully spends weeks alone renovating the old house, Jennifer returns to Australia to liquidate their assets.," the book's synopsis reads. "When Scully arrives at Shannon Airport to pick up Jennifer and their seven-year-old daughter, Billie, it is Billie who emerges—alone. There is no note, no explanation, not so much as a word from Jennifer, and the shock has left Billie speechless. In that instant, Scully’s life falls to pieces.”

David Kajganich will adapt the screenplay. Berger will producer the film alongside Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss. Pitt will produce alongside Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner via his banner Plan B Entertainment.
A24 will finance and distribute the project, which is slated for an early 2026 production date across various locations in Europe.
Pitt is slated to apple in film F1 for Apple. The Oscar winning actor is also set to star in the Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood spin-off, The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, for Netflix. The series, which sees Pitt reprising his titular role, will be helmed by David Fincher, who will direct from a script by Quentin Tarantino.
