Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Faces ‘High Pitched Shrieks’ After Major Mishap at Daughter Tia’s Birthday Party
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was just trying his best. All the Moana star wanted to do was give his youngest daughter a perfect birthday party, but he flew too close to the sun. Johnson got a little too confident when taking care of a parent’s most important role on The Big Day.
I think most kids would [respectfully?! lovingly?!] agree that parents should be seen and not heard at a birthday party. If the adults don’t feel comfortable leaving the room entirely, they should just sneak as far back into the wall as possible, a la Homer Simpson backing up into the hedges. (IYKYK.)
If that’s the case, the only acceptable (and necessary) time for a parent to step in during the party is when it’s time to break out the birthday cake. A caregiver can take care of the candles and cutting, but things did not go as planned when the former wrestler started cutting his 7-year-old daughter Tiana’s cake.
After successfully cutting the first piece, he knocked the cake stand over. Tiana’s friends began to scream, but, in what’s being called a “heroic” move, Johnson caught the dessert before true disaster struck. Instead of a fully smashed sweet treat, there was just a little smudging on one side. He then decided to forgo the cake stand, lest their be a repeat.
Followers were quick to assure the Rock that these near-fails are the “moments that matter” while wishing his daughter — who he shares with wife Lauren Hashian, along with 9-year-old daughter Jasmine — a happy birthday.
“You know I’m not letting a bunch of little girls grow up telling a story about how ‘The Rock killed our birthday cake’ ????????????????♂️,” he captioned the video of the fateful moment. “Their high pitched shrieks in unison is the perfect way to spike your adrenaline! ????????”
“Happy Birthday to my youngest tornado, Tia!” he continued. “Love U baby ❤️????”
Johnson — who is also dad to 23-year-old Simone whom he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia — is the epitome of a loving girl dad. And not just because he saved the rainbow-covered birthday cake. The Red Notice actor is constantly getting surprise makeovers and “unicorn poo” facials from his daughters and can’t help but gush about fatherhood.
“It’s the greatest thing ever,” he said during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, per People.
These celebrity fathers are all proud to be “girl dads.”
