A MAJOR motorway used by 130,000 drivers every day is set to close for urgent roadworks.
Motorists have been warned to check their routes as overnight closures are impacting thousands.
The M3 is closing is facing a slew of closures this week starting from today.
Those looking to hit the roads during the sunshine might want to plan ahead.
This evening, the M3 northbound carriageway closure from junction 4 (Frimley) to junction 3 (Bagshot) from 9pm until 6am tomorrow.
There is also a closure from junction 2 (Thorpe/M25) to junction 3 (Bagshot) from 10pm until 6am.
Tomorrow there will be another overnight closure on the M3.
The M3 southbound carriageway is shut off from junction 2 (Thorpe/M25) to junction 3 (Bagshot) starting at 10pm until 6am the following morning.
On May 2, from 10pm the M3 southbound carriageway will be closed from junction 2 (Thorpe/M25) to junction 3 (Bagshot).
There aren’t any planned closures on the M3 at the end of this week or this weekend.

It might be wise to keep water in the car and temperatures are set to soar to 29C.
Unfortunately, for those in Surrey, the M3 isn’t the only road that is expecting road closures this week.
Today the M25 anti-clockwise entry slip road closure at junction 9 (Leatherhead) is closed from 10pm this evening until 5am.
The A3 will also be closed from 10pm until 5.30am from the Wisley Interchange to Ockham Road.
In the same time frame, there will be a A3 northbound carriageway closure from London Road to the Wisley Interchange.
Tomorrow from 10pm until 5am the M25 anti-clockwise entry slip road closure at junction 9 (Leatherhead).
A3 southbound carriageway closure from the Wisley Interchange to Ockham Road will also be closed from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning.
The A3 northbound carriageway closure from London Road to the Wisley Interchange will also be closed in this time frame.
Several closures are scheduled on the M25 overnight on Thursday.
The clockwise southbound link road at Junction 16 (Denham/M40) will be closed from 11pm until 6am the following morning.
Additionally, the anti-clockwise entry slip road at Junction 9 (Leatherhead) will be shut from 10pm until 5am.
The anti-clockwise exit slip road at Junction 12 (Thorpe/M25) will be closed from 10pm until 5.30am the next morning.
There are also overnight closures planned on the A3 on Thursday.
The northbound entry slip road near the Hogs Back will be closed from 9pm until 6am the following morning.
Additionally, the southbound carriageway will be shut between the Wisley Interchange and Ockham Road from 10pm until 5.30am.
Furthermore, the northbound carriageway will be closed from London Road to the Wisley Interchange during the same hours, 10pm to 5.30am.
On May 2, several overnight closures are scheduled on the M25 and A3.
On the M25, the clockwise and anti-clockwise southbound link road at Junction 16 (Denham/M40) will be closed from 11pm until 6am the following morning.
The anti-clockwise entry slip road at Junction 9 (Leatherhead) will also be shut during the same hours, as will the anti-clockwise exit slip road at Junction 12 (Thorpe/M25).
On the A3, the northbound exit slip road at Thursley will be closed from 9.30pm until 6am the following morning.
The southbound carriageway between the Wisley Interchange and Ockham Road will be shut from 11pm until 6am, while the northbound carriageway from London Road to the Wisley Interchange will be closed from 10pm until 5.30am.
Motorists are urged to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes where possible ahead of the bank holiday.
