Edmond Police identify suspect in officer-involved stabbing
EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) - The Edmond Police Department has identified the 22-year-old suspect involved in a stabbing with an Edmond police officer on Thursday, May 1.
Officials say that an officer pulled into a Goodwill parking lot to perform a traffic stop. Upon talking with the driver of the vehicle, an individual walked up to the officer and pepper-sprayed him before getting into a physical altercation.
The officer called for backup and continued to struggle with the suspect before being stabbed. Officers arrived at the scene before tasing and arresting the suspect.
The suspect has been identified as Ocean Hudson. He is facing multiple charges including Assault and Battery of a Police Officer, Aggravated Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Obstruction of a Police Officer.
Hudson was taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
Edmond Police say the officer involved is stable at this time.
