BUCKINGHAM Palace has broken its silence after Prince Harry’s bombshell interview.
The Duke of Sussex today lost his appeal against the decision to remove his taxpayer-funded security.
Harry always said the three-and-a-half year legal battle “mattered” more to him than anything else – including his privacy rows with the press.
Following the loss, Harry underwent an astonishing interview with the BBC in which he savaged his family and chillingly suggested it would be the Firm’s fault if anything happened to him or wife Meghan Markle.
Tonight, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson slammed: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

In the interview, Harry said he still hopes for reconciliation – despite repeatedly attacking the Royal Family.
In a bombshell interview with the BBC, Harry sensationally revealed that King Charles refuses to speak to him “because of this security stuff”.
He also said he doesn’t know how long the King has left to live but that he wants to “reconcile” with him.
Following his devastating court loss, which he branded a “surprise”, Harry moaned it was “impossible” to bring his family to the UK.
He said he misses the UK and it is “sad” that he won’t be able to show his children his homeland.
Harry said there have been “so many disagreements between myself and some of my family” but claimed he had now “forgiven” them.
However the prince blamed the King, declaring “this whole thing could be resolved through him”.
He said his father could do this by “stepping aside” but he added: “I never asked him to intervene” – instead calling on the Prime Minister to step in on the row.
“Look at the impact. If anything was to happen to me, my wife, my kids – my father’s grandchildren…look where the responsibility lies,” he said.
“Do you not want to keep us safe?”
“My life got devalued from the highest score to the lowest score overnight.”

The 40-year-old said he feels singled out and the way he’s been treated in the court fight “uncovered my worst fears” – saying security “imprisons” those in the royal family from having a different life.

The Duke of Sussex brought the case against the Home Office and the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec).
He had moaned he was “singled out” after his round-the-clock royal protection was axed in the wake of Megxit.
Harry also bizarrely claimed stripping him of his security was a plot to force him and Meghan Markle back to Britain.
He today told the BBC: “There are decisions that were made, there are things that have happened since 2016 that I can now forgive. I’ve moved past that.
“I can forgive my family’s involvement, my father, my brother and my stepmother, I can forgive.
“I can forgive the press to a large extent as well, for so many things that have happened.

“What I’m struggling to forgive, and will probably always struggle to forgive, is that a decision that was made in 2020 that affects my every single day, and that is knowingly putting me and my family in harm’s way.
“Everybody knew that they were putting us at risk in 2020 and they hoped that me knowing that risk would force us to come back.”
Earlier this month, Harry returned to the UK for his two-day hearing at the Court of Appeal in London.
But Sir Geoffrey Vos, Lord Justice Bean and Lord Justice Edis today ruled against him in a humiliating blow for the prince.
The loss – his second unsuccessful appeal against the decision – could be the final nail in the coffin for his security row, although Harry could still take his fight to the Supreme Court.
It also means he faces paying the legal costs for both sides, which is estimated to amount to more than £1.5million.
Harry said he was “obviously pretty gutted” about the decision and “thought it was going to go our way”.
“For a start the only time I’ve come back to the UK is for funerals and court cases with the odd charitable function where I can in between that,” the Duke continued.
“I put myself a risk for that but I will continue on with a lifetime of public service so I will always support the charities and people that mean so much to me.”
On whether he wants to pursue his case to the Supreme Court, Harry said he doesn’t want any battles to continue.
“There is way too much suffering and way too much conflict in the world,” he said.
“At the heart of it is a family dispute, and it makes me really, really sad that we are sitting here today, five years later, where a decision that was made, most likely to keep us under the roof, but then once they realised that wasn’t going to work, once they realised that myself, my wife and my kids are happier outside of the institution, then please just look at the facts.
“Look at the risks, look at the threat, look at the impact that, if anything was to happen to me, my wife, or my father’s grandchildren, if anything was to happen to them, look where the responsibility lies, you know?
“So there is a duty of care that has been completely thrown out the window and that doesn’t feel great.”
