Get free flowers at Union Square subway station in NYC
UNION SQUARE, Manhattan (PIX11) -- April showers bring May flowers and to celebrate New Yorkers can get a free flower to brighten up their commute.
In celebration of spring, NYC florist Lewis Miller will bring a floral installation to the Union Square subway station where passersby can also grab a free flower to take home. The giveaway runs Wednesday only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Commuters can stop by the Union Square subway entrance at 16th Street and Union Square West to enjoy the blooming installation called "Flower Flash."
Flower Flash is described as "guerilla-style street art installations made with flowers" that has earned Miller the title of the "Banksy of Floral Design."
Since at least 2020, Miller has transformed trash cans, street signs, manholes, ice cream trucks and more into floral works of art as part of his Flower Flash pop-ups.
