Prime Video Announces Cancellation of Eight Shows
Amazon's Prime Video is one of the biggest streaming providers on the planet, offering a wealth of options for television shows. However, several of those shows will not be continuing as the streaming service has canceled several of its shows this year.
In a list shared by DirecTV, Prime Video has announced the cancellation of eight shows this year as The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, The Sticky, Cruel Intentions, Almost Paradise, Honey Bunny, Diana, The Power, and Clean Slate will not be returning for another season.
The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh follows a family that successfully moved from India to the United States for a new experience. The series is uniquely told in flashbacks from an interrogation room, allowing the story to be revealed slowly from different perspectives. However, it was canceled after one season.
The Sticky tells the story of a Canadian maple syrup farmer who finds her farm is under threat. As a result, she devises a plot to steal millions of dollars worth of maple syrup as revenge. The show was canceled after just one season.
Part of the film drama franchise of the same name, Cruel Intentions follows two manipulative step-siblings at a wealthy college who fight to maintain their social status in Greek life. The show was also canceled after just one season.
Almost Paradise focuses on a retired DEA agent who moves to the Philippines and purchases a gift shop at the Paradise Hotel only to be drawn back into law enforcement after criminal activity threatens the island. The show was renewed for a second, but it was canceled after two seasons.
Honey Bunny is a spin-off and prequel to the Prime Video series Citadel, revolving around the story of Honey and Bunny, who are the parents of the character Nadia Sinh. Diana was another Citadel spin-off series. However, despite the success of Citadel, both shows were canceled after one season.
In The Power, all teenage girls on the planet suddenly develop the power to electrocute people at will, changing the social dynamic of the entire planet. The show, however, was canceled after just one season.
Clean Slate is a sitcom that tells the story of a 40-year-old trans woman who is returning to her small town in Alabama to reunite with her father after 23 years. Harry is excited to reunite with his son, who he does not know is now a proud trans woman. The show was also canceled after just one season.
Obviously, Amazon still boasts a wide collection of shows despite these cancellations, but fans of these shows will undoubtedly be upset at the news.
