'The Masked Singer' Won't Return Until 2026
Fox will release its fall schedule on Monday, May 13, but it has already shared news about one of its most popular unscripted shows.
The Masked Singer is getting a Season 14 renewal, but fans are going to have to wait a bit to see the reality competition show. According to Deadline, Fox was excited about the upcoming "super-charged" new season, but there's a catch — the show won't return until January 2026.
“Debuting the new season in January is a strategic move to give ample runway for America’s favorite guessing game and allow us to creatively look at enhancing the show with the biggest names at the center of it,” a network spokesperson told the media outlet.

For the first time since its debut in 2019, The Masked Singer will only offer one season this year. Deadline is reporting that this is "not a permanent move and The Masked Singer is likely to be back on air twice a year in the future." Still, it will be a big change for fans when the 2025-2026 TV season begins.
With high-profile contestants competing on the show over the last 13 seasons, including Kevin Hart, Demi Lovato, Kermit the Frog, and Tony Hawk, the show is an expensive one for Fox. In March 2024, executive producer Craig Pletis revealed to Yonhap News, via The Mirror US, that one costume can cost over $178,700. With an average of 15 to 16 contestants competing, that becomes a whopping $2.8 million.
The network has not announced yet if host Nick Cannon and judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke are returning. Rita Ora stepped in for longtime judge Nicole Scherzinger in Season 11 because of her role in Sunset Blvd in the West End and now, on Broadway.
