Niskayuna cruises past CBA for Suburban Council win
NISKAYUNA, NY (NEWS10) -- The Niskayuna Boys Lacrosse team earned an impressive 22-4 victory over CBA on Thursday night in a battle of state-ranked teams. The Silver Warriors entered the contest as the #13 team in Class A, while the Brothers were ranked #15 in Class B.
While it took 4 minutes before either side cracked the scoreboard, once the Silvers Warriors found the back of the net once, they did not slow down. John Mooney was the first to strike for Nisky, scoring the first of his six goals in the game.
Dillon Licht would follow with a pair of goals in the next 1:03 and the Silver Warriors offense was rolling. Niskayuna would go on to score 10 goals in the first quarter, allowing 0 from CBA, and then would take a 16-2 lead into the break.
On the day, the Silver Warriors had 8 different goal scorers, highlighted by Mooney's game-high 6 tallies, followed by a 4-goal performance from George Angelopoulos and hat tricks from Licht and Aiden Clark.
