Taraji P. Henson Rocks All Leather Norma Kamali Dress and Thigh-High Boots to Dance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show”
Taraji P. Henson joined Jennifer Hudson for an appearance on the singer’s “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” The Season Three episode that’s airing on May 9 was filmed in Burbank, California, but Henson still went for a full head-to-toe leather look.
The actress wore a faux patent leather oversized tie-waist shirtdress by Norma Kamali. The ensemble, which retails for $395, features a relaxed fit cut, brought in by a cinching D-ring belt at the waist.
Henson, who often works with stylists Wayman and Micah, wore a design from Kamali’s Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection, which debuted at New York Fashion Week in February.
“Masculine energy is everywhere,” the designer said to WWD about the inspiration for her collection during a showroom appointment at the time. “But truth be told, I think women in your age group have so much masculine energy, this ‘F–k you. I can do this without you, energy.’ I thought was a real statement.”
The mini dress featured a point collar, long sleeves and a skirt that landed right at her thigh. “The Color Purple” star kept it simple with her accessories. She wore a metal gold belt to tie the look together, adding a pair of sheer black tights and black dangling earrings. For footwear, she put on leather pointed toe, thigh high boots. The boots appeared to feature a pull on design, which was visible while she danced down the talk show’s popular “Spirit Tunnel” backstage. The boot sat on a stiletto heel measuring about 3 to 4 inches.
The episode was celebrating moms with a special Mother’s Day episode airing May 9. Henson joined the talk show host to reflect on becoming a mom at a young age and how it fueled her drive through college and a rising career. The actress also talked about her latest role in Tyler Perry’s “Straw” and shared mom advice — from handling mom guilt to navigating empty-nest life and keeping the spark alive.
