FACT CHECK: Link to 4Ps May 10 payout payroll is fake

Claim: A Facebook post contains a link to the list of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries who can claim their cash grants on May 10, 2025.

Why we fact-checked this: The post containing the claim was published on May 3. It was posted on a Facebook group named DSWD Payout (4ps, MCCT, RCCT, UCT & TCT) that has 501,000 members.

The post, along with other similar misleading posts with varying payout schedules, has also been resurfacing online recently.

The facts: In a fact check published in June 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) clarified in an email to Rappler that 4Ps beneficiaries are not posted publicly, in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

In the said fact check, the department said beneficiaries are informed of their payout schedules through city or municipal links, with the assistance of parent leaders, and not through a link online. Notifications are typically given one week before the scheduled payout.

“The beneficiaries cannot check online if they are scheduled for payout. They can only check cash grant deposits in their accounts through the LBP iAccess,” the DSWD said, referring to the online banking service of Land Bank.

Phishing threat: Link checker Virus Total flagged the link attached in the post as possibly containing a phishing risk. A further check of the link reveals that Instead of leading to a legitimate payout list, the link redirects users to a Shopee-themed page.
