Mild Mother's Day with a few afternoon rain chances
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - After a cool start to Mother's Day morning, temperatures rise fast into the afternoon hours thanks to sunshine. Later on Sunday, a few showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, will develop around the area. These will be quick moving showers and won't cause too many issues for any plans celebrating Mom.
It will be another cool night heading with temperatures dropping back into the 50s around the area. Monday will see plentiful sunshine with only one or two showers developing in the afternoon. Highs reach 80 degrees.
Through the next 7 days, temperatures are on the rise and humidity settles back in...basically summer has arrived! Without any rain chances to bring cooler conditions, temperatures soar to 90 or above by next weekend.
