Sahith Theegala's Girlfriend Breaks Silence on Injury After Truist Championship Withdrawal
The PGA Tour's fifth of six signature events of the season didn't exactly go as planned with a number of top golfers withdrawing from the event at various times.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler opted not to compete in the event after winning the Byron Nelson the weekend prior while major winner Jason Day withdrew just a day before the event kicked off. Justin Rose and Michael Kim followed not long later with Rose dropping out after two days of competition and Kim leaving in the middle of his third round.
Sahith Theegala made it a bit further, completing his third round before dropping out ahead of the fourth and final round on Sunday. The PGA Tour revealed Theegala withdrew from the tournament with a neck injury, but didn't provide much detail regarding his decision.
Later on May 11, Theegala's girlfriend, JuJu Chan revealed his round started off great, with a birdie on the first hole. However, she noted his round started to devolve quickly after that as his neck issue flared up.
"everyone wish sahith a speedy recovery❤️????," she said in the caption of her post on Instagram.

Chan said Theegala rushed through the back nine while trying to get off the course "as quickly as possible" to deal with his nagging injury, which may have caused his 8-over, 78 which included four bogeys, a double-bogey and a triple-bogey.
After he received some physical therapy, the couple headed into Philadelphia to hit a few shops, grab a cup of coffee and then went home to watch the rest of the coverage.
Theegala won't have long to prepare for the PGA Championship, which tees off on May 15.
