Two Beloved Local Pizzerias In New Jersey, California Closing
Two beloved local pizza restaurants have reportedly decided to close after more than 30 years.
Operating a restaurant remains one of the toughest things in business. Restaurants have an overall failure rate of 30 percent. Close to 20 percent of restaurants close during their first year of operation.
So, when a restaurant lasts for several decades, it's an incredible accomplishment. It also makes things incredibly sad when they ultimately decided to close after decades of operation.
Two beloved local pizzerias are closing after being in operation for close to 100 combined years.
In Southern California, a beloved local pizza restaurant, Old Town Pizza, is closing.
The restaurant had been in operation for more than 30 years. However, it's been the victim of some real estate issues. Old Town Pizza has lost its lease, meaning it's being forced to shut down - for now, anyway.
The local pizzeria, a favorite among those in Southern California, is promising to be back.
It's not the only beloved local pizzeria that is closing after multiple decades of operation.
In Hoboken, New Jersey, a beloved pizzeria is closing after roughly 60 years of operation.
Torna’s Pizzeria, located at 254 9th Street in Hoboken, has been serving the local New Jersey community for more than 60 years. However, it's shutting down this summer.
“Heartbreaking to see yet another Hoboken staple say goodbye. After 64 unforgettable years, Torna’s Pizza will be closing its doors on July 24th. Since 1960, this family-run gem has been serving love by the slice — a place full of tradition, warmth, and community. Stop by for one last bite and help celebrate the legacy they’ve built. Thank you, Torna family, for everything," the report stated.
Enjoy the local pizzerias while they're there, because you never know when they'll be gone.
