Pauletta Washington Reacts to Husband Denzel Washington's Tonys Snub for 'Othello' Role
Pauletta Washington is sharing her thoughts on husband Denzel Washington‘s Tonys snub.
Earlier this month, the nominations for the 2025 Tony Awards were announced and fans were shocked to learn that Denzel, 70, didn’t receive a nomination for his role in Othello despite receiving good reviews.
In a new interview with People, Pauletta, 74, was asked to share her reaction to her husband’s snub.

“In my family we’ve been through this a lot of times. A lot of times,” Pauletta continued. “And I think I can speak honestly and truthfully and artistically that it was denied, you know, so you wonder why.”
She added, “But we don’t have to wonder why: It’s narrow-minded people that are in charge of making decisions and judgments.”
Denzel wasn’t the only star surprisingly snubbed by the 2025 Tonys.
