Domestic violence leads to attempted murder in Vancouver
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Vancouver domestic disturbance escalated into gunfire early Saturday before the suspect fled but was found and arrested for attempted murder.
The incident in the Fourth Plain Village neighborhood happened around 5 a.m. May 10, Vancouver police posted on X. A woman called to report the man -- whose name has not been released -- pointed a gun at her while he was "destroying her home."
When he took off in his car, police quickly spotted him. He got out of the car and was arrested as he laid face down on the road.
Once he was in custody, police said, they found a pistol and a box of ammunition in his car along with 20 shell casings around it.
He was booked into the Clark County Jail on 6 separate charges: attempted murder, assault domestic violence, unlawful discharge of a gun, reckless endangerment, malicious mischief and interfering with reporting domestic violence.
Authorities did not say if anyone was injured. No other details are available at this time.
