Manhattan man arrested on felony drug charges after traffic stop in East Fishkill
EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A man from Manhattan was arrested Monday after troopers allegedly found over 100 grams of drugs in his car. According to the New York State Police, Anyelo Santiago, 37, faces multiple felony charges.
On Monday, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Honda traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill for vehicle and traffic law violations. Santiago was identified as the driver and the only person in the car.
Upon the stop, a consent search was conducted. According to troopers, the search reportedly found about 111 grams of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA, and about 66.2 grams of blue fentanyl pills.
Santiago was placed under arrested and charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, with the intent to sell, a class B felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, a class B felony
Santiago was arraigned in the town of East Fishkill Court. He was then remanded to the Dutchess County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
