Ana de Armas Is On Fire In New ‘Ballerina’ Trailer
“When you think of me, you should think of fire.”
That’s the refrain we hear throughout the latest trailer for Ballerina, the newest addition to the John Wick universe. And it’s a statement we can take fairly literally.
The newest trailer, which was released this morning, gives fans an additional 90 seconds of action-packed entertainment—and a close-up look at the fighting skills Ana de Armas has mastered as the star of Ballerina.

Less than 10 seconds into the footage, we also get a glimpse of Keanu Reeves as John Wick, though discerning exactly how the connection between the two of them will play out is not easy at this point. We also get a quick glimpse of Anjelica Huston as The Director, a role she first played in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and will reprise here, much to the excitement of fans.
Huston is not the only familiar face we’ll see. Ian McShane is returning to the franchise as Winston Scott, the owner and and manager of New York City’s Continental Hotel, part of global chain of five-star hotels that offer a safe haven for both criminals and hired killers, as there’s a strict policy that “no business” should be conducted within the hotel’s four walls. (In other words, it’s a neutral zone where enemies cannot engage in attempting to murder one another.) The late Lance Reddick will also reprise his role as the hotel’s concierge, Charon.
While there are plenty of shots of de Armas’ Eve using standard weapons such as a gun, she also leans into a much more unique arsenal of weaponry, including a flame thrower, cooking pan, ice pick, and a pair of ice skates. The Havana-born actress has described the movie as “by far the most physical and challenging thing I've ever done.”
She elaborated on this in an interview with Extra! where she explained that “doing action is just not natural. They’re very intricate fights… Like in all the John Wick movies, we wanted the audience to feel like I was the one doing the fights most of the time. So we wanted very long takes and very well prepared choreography, so everybody had to be in sync.”
Yet what de Armas loves most about the story is that while there’s humor in what they’re doing, there’s also “a lot of emotion” behind all of the action. The 37-year-old says that “the story of the character is really powerful, and the arc of the character. It’s really cool that we’re turning the camera around and we see the John Wick world from a different character’s perspective.” In other words: It’s not just kicking a** for kicking a**’ sake.
Ballerina arrives in theaters on June 6, 2025.
