Keke Palmer Seemingly Throws Shade at Ex Darius Jackson With New Song 'My Confession'
Keke Palmer is using music to help her move on from her ex.
The 31-year-old actress and singer released a new song “My Confession” last week, which is a nod to Usher‘s 2004 hit “Confessions Part II.” However, Keke‘s lyrics seemingly reference her split from Darius Jackson.
“Summer ’23, we was in Vegas, right / Broke up with me and you hopped up on a flight/ Was tryna find my way back to ‘alright’/ So I figured that I’d have myself a girl’s night,” she sings in the song.
She continues, “Made me a villain for sympathy but you lied/But the truth is, in Vegas, we was already over, boo/ Because of you.”

Keke also took to her Instagram page to give more insight on the track.
“Sometimes the closure we need doesn’t come from a conversation—it comes from being honest with ourselves. That’s what this song is. My peace. My clarity. My way of letting go. I’m not here to play perfect. I’m here to be honest,” she wrote in the caption.
In July 2023, Keke danced with Usher onstage during one of his Las Vegas concerts when he sang his hit “There Goes My Baby.” Shortly after, Darius took to Twitter to publicly criticize Keke‘s outfit during the interaction.
Keke and Darius split a few months later, amid allegations of domestic violence. They share one son together, Leodis Jackson, who was born in February 2023.
If you didn’t see, back in February, Usher commented on the situation between him and Keke.
