Man charged with making terroristic threat in Bethlehem
BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Bethlehem Police made an arrest on Tuesday after a public threat investigation. Joshua Case, 34, faces multiple charges.
Case is accused of making several phone calls to the Bethlehem Police Department and the Frontage Road Stewarts Shop in Glenmont, allegedly threatening harm to the public and law enforcement. During the investigation, police learned that Case was making the calls from his hotel room at the Quality Inn on Frontage Road.
Portions of the hotel were evacuated out of an abundance of caution while officers worked to de-escalate the situation. After several hours of negotiations in which Case was reportedly uncooperative, he eventually exited his hotel room and was taken into custody without further incident around 9:30 a.m.
Case was charged with making a terroristic threat, a class D Felony, and second-degree aggravated harassment, a class A misdemeanor. Bethlehem PD were assisted in the operation by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
Case was arraigned at the Town of Bethlehem Court before being released under Albany County Probation supervision. His next court date is scheduled for June 3.
