Suni Lee Sends 2-Word Message After Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Debut
On Tuesday, May 13, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit revealed its four cover girls, actress Salma Hayek, model Lauren Chan and gymnasts Olivia Dunne and Jordan Chiles.
"Are you kidding me? Thank you so much. Oh my god, MJ, this is a dream come true,” Dunne said, via SI Swimsuit. “I can’t believe it. Oh my god. That photo is so good. That is crazy, I am a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model. This bikini ... this was the one. I felt like such a baddie in it. This is the best day of my life. This is so exciting.”
She and Chiles weren't the only gymnasts to make the magazine, though. Star United States gymnast Suni Lee, who won three medals at the Olympics in Paris in 2024, gold in the team competition, bronze in the all-around, and bronze in the uneven bars, made her debut in the iconic swimsuit magazine.
"My earliest memories of gymnastics—I used to watch gymnastics videos all the time," Lee told SI. "I was constantly flipping around the bed, breaking things, flipping around the house. My mom got sick of it, she decided to put me in gymnastics, and it's just stuck ever since."
Lee admitted the fashion world has captivated her attention as she participated in New York Fashion Week and appeared at the Met Gala.
"Moving to New York has been a big adjustment, but also getting into the fashion world has been so surreal," Lee said. "But also this is the first time I've really taken a break from gymnastics. Diving into something like that has been really, really different, but also one of the best experiences of my life."
After landing a spot in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Lee had just two words, "a dreamm," she said in a post on X - formerly Twitter.
