Corinth couple back in court regarding their child's death
CORINTH, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Just a week after Matthew and Samantha Dylewski were arrested for criminally negligent homicide in the death of their 3-year-old daughter Joycelynn, they were back in court for a proceeding that lasted under 10 minutes.
They had separate lawyers. Both requested and were denied a family court carve out.
This story begins on February 19 when Joycelynn was taken to a hospital for difficulty breathing and later died. Authorities have said the child's death was connected to the unsanitary, bug infested conditions in the Dylewski's Main Street home, leading the Corinth codes department to condemn their apartment and describe it as unlivable.
Matthew and Samantha have four other kids and were charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child on February 21. Last week, the pair were arrested on a single charge of criminally negligent homicide after the official death certificate listed Joycelynn’s passing as a homicide.
Exiting court, the couple and their cabal of supporters said the truth has yet to come out.
The town requested a one-month adjournment. The pair are due back in court on July 8.
