Robb's Topp Doggs to open location in Via Port Rotterdam
ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Robb's Topp Doggs, an NYC style hot dog cart, is setting up shop in Via Port Rotterdam in the coming weeks. The owners, Robb and Danielle Nedell, announced their incoming residence to the mall on Tuesday.
The Nedells have been running the Robb's Topp Doggs hot dog cart for three years now, serving Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, and even Saratoga counties, but now they're going to set up a permanent spot. The incoming hot dog joint plans to hold its grand opening on or around June 7.
Robb's Topp Doggs will have its classic hot dogs and grilled cheese, but the owners said they will bring new twists including a grilled ham and cheese and fresh cut fries. The Via Port location will be operated the same way as the hot dog cart, with the Nedells preparing and running everything together.
Danielle Nedell said she and her husband, Robb, have a good routine going with the way they run their business, so no one else will be in house working alongside them to start. She did say that in the future they would like to expand to have both the hot dog stand and the Via Port location running at the same time, so there may be a point in time where things change.
According to Danielle, everything is all set from construction to permits. The Nedells are waiting until June to open, however, because they have some prior commitments with the hot dog cart to attend to before setting up shop.
The owners will post at the beginning of each week what their schedule is for hot dog cart events both before and while the food court restaurant is open. Danielle said the hours for the food court location are tentatively 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., as per the contract with Via Port, but they are subject to change depending on events going on with the hot dog cart outside of the mall and events within the mall.
There are several events featuring Robb's Topp Doggs coming up in the future including, but not limited to Curtis Lumber's PetAPalooza and Rotterdam's Memorial Day celebration. Make sure to check out the business's Facebook page for updates on scheduling and event attendance.
