Elizabeth Hurley Finally Reacted to Fans’ Opinions on Her 'Surprising' Romance With Billy Ray Cyrus
Almost a month ago now, Elizabeth Hurley took her followers by surprise when she hard-launched her relationship with country singer Billy Ray Cyrus on Easter Sunday. And while Hurley and Cyrus have been open about their connection since, with even more PDA-packed Instagram pics, fans might still be wrapping their minds over the couple.
In a new interview at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party on May 13, however, Hurley finally reacted to all the responses and explained why their romance wasn’t all that surprising to her.
“I think people found Billy and I being together a little surprising,” she told Page Six. “It’s not surprising to me because we’re actually quite similar and get on extremely well.”
The pair first met when they co-starred in the 2022 movie Christmas in Paradise together.
As for the things the British actress and Cyrus have in common, the Austin Powers star said it’s a mix of everything. “We both like to laugh a lot, and we both love country music, both love movies,” she listed. “We’ve got a lot in common — and cowboy boots, definitely.”
So far, it seems most of their romance has taken place in Cyrus’ home in Tennessee. In fact, Hurley even posted a photo of them on April 27, saying, “Tennessee weekend ❤️.”
But, according to the actress, that’s all going to change soon. “I have to go back to England tomorrow, but Billy will come to England soon,” Hurley told People on the carpet.
“We are very happy, we both love country music, we both love the country, and we both love our kids,” she then gushed to the outlet. “We’re happy together.”
Last month, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer equally gushed about Hurley on The Ty Bentli Show, per People. “She’s so impressively brilliant,” he said. “She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman.”
“If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything,” he continued. “It’s just been beautiful.”
