Memorial Day parades around the Capital Region
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Memorial Day is Monday, May 26. Cities and towns across the Capital Region are holding parades and ceremonies to honor those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Albany
The Albany Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26. The parade route has changed; instead of beginning at Central Avenue and Quail Street, the parade will now begin at Central and Lexington Avenues. The parade will end at the Lafayette Park for a ceremony.
Catskill
The Catskill Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is scheduled for May 26 at 2 p.m. The parade will begin on Water Street and end at Dutchmen's Landing, followed by a ceremony presentation. All Greene County Veterans' organizations, fire companies, schools, religious groups and civic organizations are invited to participate.
Tannersville
The Tannersville Memorial Day Parade is set for Sunday, May 25 at 1 p.m. The parade will take off down Main Street, with a memorial service and BBQ hosted afterward at the memorial monument.
Athens
The Athens Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26 at 9 a.m.
Greenville
The Greenville Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26 at 10 a.m.
Cairo
The Cairo Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26 at 11 a.m.
Coxsackie
The Coxsackie Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26 at 1 p.m.
Prattsville
The Prattsville Memorial Day Parade is set for May 26 at 1 p.m.
Cohoes
The city of Cohoes Memorial Day Parade is set for Thursday, May 22 at 6 p.m. The parade will start at the Veteran's Memorial park and end at Canal Square.
Ballston Spa
The Ballston Spa Memorial Day Parade is set for Saturday, May 24 at 9 a.m. The parade will begin at Ocean State Job Lot and end at the Veterans Park for Miliary Services and an after parade BBQ.
Rensselaer
The Rensselaer Memorial Day Parade is set for Sunday, May 25 at 1 p.m., with opening ceremonies. The parade will step off at 2 p.m. at the Beverwyck Cemetery at the corner of Washington Avenue and 7th Street, ending at City Hall at the corner of Third Avenue and Walker Street.
Rotterdam
The 63rd annual Rotterdam Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for May 22 at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin at Warrior Path-Mohonasen High School and finish at the Rotterdam Town hall on Sunrise Boulevard.
Schoharie
The Schoharie Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Thursday, May 22 starting at 6 p.m. The parade will step off at the County office building and finish at the firehouse.
Gloversville
The Gloversville Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for May 26 at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Main Street and end at Prospect Hill Cemetery, with a ceremony to close.
South Glens Falls
The South Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Friday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The parade will step off on Wilson Avenue and end at the Veteran's Memorial Park. Food and refreshments will be available at the Moreau Community Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
