In court on Day 3, Cassie outlined what alleged happened in her relationship with the 41-year-old “Day ‘n’ Nite” entertainer.
Cassie said that in 2011, while she was at home in Connecticut during the holiday season, she called off her relationship with Kid Cudi after Diddy threatened them both.
“I had broken off the relationship with Scott Mescudi [real name], [there was] too much uncertainty if we continued to see each other,” she said, adding, there was danger and “Sean said he was going to hurt the both of us.”
At one point, she said Diddy told her that when she was out of the country “Scott’s car would be blown up.”
Prosecutors believe that Kid Cudi is the victim of a car bombing committed by Diddy.
In the original lawsuit filed by Cassie, she said that in early 2012, Diddy allegedly grew so angry about her dating the rapper that he said he would blow up the rapper’s car.
“Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway,” the suit alleged. Through a spokeswoman, Kid Cudi confirmed Cassie‘s account. “This is all true,” he said.
Rolling Stone later confirmed that the owner of a Porsche that was set on fire by an “incendiary device” on January 9, 2012 at a Los Angeles address connected was Kid Cudi, via public records. The report says the fire was reported at 10:53 a.m., with the damage estimated at $10,000. The cause of the ignition was listed as “intentional.”
An official with the fire department in 2012 confirmed to Rolling Stone that the fire was called in and a woman at the home spoke with the fire department. The official recalls inspecting the fire-damaged luxury vehicle and said it was not engulfed upon their arrival.
“There is no allegation that Mr. Combs was involved in these actions or directed anyone else to take them,” Diddy‘s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told Rolling Stone. “It’s clear the government doesn’t know who set fire to the vehicle or how it relates to Mr Combs, who denies any involvement.”
