Aimee Lou Wood To Share The Screen With Angelina Jolie In Her First Post-White Lotus Role
Aimee Lou Wood is doing little to conceal her excitement after her latest big-screen project was unveiled.
On Thursday, it was reported that – fresh from her acclaimed performance in the most recent season of The White Lotus – the Bafta winner is joining the cast of the heist comedy Anxious People, in which she’ll share the screen with Angelina Jolie.
Deadline was the first to report the news, with Aimee then posting a screenshot of their announcement on Instagram alongside the message: “QUEEN ANGE!!!!”
Aimee also posted a picture of Angelina in her Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted, writing: “This performance rocked my whole world when I first saw it and now I get to act with my goddessssssss.”
The film Anxious People is an adaptation of Fredrik Backman’s novel of the same name.
A synopsis posted on Deadline reads: “The day before Christmas Eve, investment banker Zara begrudgingly finds herself mingling with a group of strangers at an open house.
“When a reluctant bank robber, Grace, inadvertently takes the group hostage, chaos and oversharing ensues, secrets are revealed and literally nothing goes according to plan.
“A film about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, and eight extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined.”
The former Sex Education star will play the bank robber, Grace, while Angelina will play the icy financier, Zara.
So far, 2025 has been the biggest year yet for Aimee, appearing in Netflix’s Toxic Town right before making her debut in The White Lotus.
The BBC Three comedy Film Club – which she co-wrote, as well as starring in – is also set to premiere later in the year.
Meanwhile, Angelina recently made a return to the big screen, earning a Golden Globe nomination for her leading performance in the drama Maria.
