Buyers Left Disappointed by Bizarre Typo on Trump-Themed Watch
A Rhode Island man and his wife were left confused and disappointed after purchasing a watch bearing the name of the current U.S. president which contained a notable spelling error, WJAR reported.
Tim Petit bought for his wife Melanie a “limited edition” pink wristwatch from the website GetTrumpWatches.com to the tune of around $640. When the timepiece arrived, the Petits were shocked to find the “T” missing from the word “Trump,” leaving a capitalized “RUMP” in its place.

“I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her. And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through,” Petit remarked.
“How could they process this and go through something without checking their work?” Melanie asked the outlet, adding that she wept over the error.

The watch Tim purchased for his wife is listed on the retailer’s website as the Inauguration First Lady model, which is pitched as providing “prosperity and love while enhancing intuition and creativity.” It is apparently one of just 250 similar watches sold on the site. The Petits attempted to contact GetTrumpWatches.com, but took their story to WJAR when they received no response. Once the station reached out to the website for comment, the company offered the Petits a formal apology and a coupon worth $800, allowing them to purchase another valuable watch.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Trump Watches are not sold or manufactured by President Trump, the Trump Organization, or any affiliates. The LLC uses the name, image, and likeness of Trump under a paid license agreement, according to the website. Trump Watches did not respond to a request for comment from Men’s Journal.
