Rotterdam man accused of having child sex abuse images
ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Rotterdam man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having child sex abuse images. According to New York State Police, Jalil Vaughn, 30, faces multiple charges.
Troopers said an investigation into Vaughn began after officials received an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Vaughn is accused of both promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, troopers and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce executed a search warrant at his home prior to his arrest Wednesday.
He was charged with:
- Promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony
- Possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony
After his arrest, he was transported to the Princetown trooper barracks for processing. He was then sent to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
