Man sentenced to 23 years in 2021 Austin murder case
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced to 23 years in prison in connection with a 2021 shooting that left another man dead.
Francois O'Neal pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced April 1. He was given credit for time already served, totaling 1,456 days or slightly less than four years.
O'Neal was accused of shooting and killing 39-year-old Ramesh Thapa in the parking lot of an apartment complex on April 6, 2021. O'Neal was arrested days later in southeast Austin, 2.7 miles from where that shooting took place.
