Woman acquitted of murder after mental heath evaluation
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman charged with murder in connection with a June 2024 incident was acquitted Sept. 20, according to Travis County court documents.
Records showed 19-year-old Keziah Titus was acquitted of the murder charge after being found mentally incompetent.
As part of the judgment, Titus must be committed to a mental health facility or residential care facility for treatment. The judge also ordered Titus to be evaluated within 120 days as to whether she poses a threat, and whether she will continue treatment.
If she is determined to need continued treatment, Titus could be committed to a mental health facility for up to 99 years, which is the maximum sentence for murder.
Titus was originally charged in connection with the death of 21-year-old Kyndall Olympia Milstead, which occurred June 25, 2024, near the 6800 block of Boyce Lane in northeastern Travis County.
