One dead in Colonie after car collides with tree
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Colonie Police are investigating a fatal car crash that took place Friday morning on NY-32 toward Green Island. All lanes between Archibald Street and Maple Avenue reopened by 12:20 p.m. after being closed for several hours.
Police stated that just after 8 a.m., a 36-year-old male driver of a four-door sedan heading south on Route 32 left the roadway and collided with a tree outside a home. After being extricated from the car, the driver, who has not yet been identified, was tended to at the scene by emergency responders before being taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
No one else was injured in the crash, according to police. The totaled vehicle was towed from the homeowner's lawn around 11:45 a.m. The ongoing investigation is being led by Colonie Police and the Maplewood Fire Department.
