Foo Fighters Fires Drummer
Josh Freese is no longer part of Foo Fighters..
In an post Instagram post, Freese announced he was no longer part of the famed musical band, further stating that the band called him earlier this week to tell him that they decided “to go in a different direction with their drummer.”
“I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band,” he wrote. “In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve never been let go from a band, so while I’m not angry—just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine. Stay tuned for my ‘Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from Foo Fighters' list.”
No word has been given as to the reason for Freese's departure from Foo Fighters.
In May 2023, Foo Fighters announced that Freese was joining the band as a full-time member. Freese had played with the group during its Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts the year prior.
Foo Fighters is not the only band Freese has played drums for. Freese has been a member of punk rock band the Vandals since 1989 and played drums for Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses.
