Bojangles Announces Big Menu Addition of Watermelon Sweet Tea
Bojangles, a restaurant chain that originated in 1977 in Charlotte, N.C., is introducing a new item that will be available for a limited time. According to Business Wire on May 16, Watermelon Sweet Tea is joining the menu at participating locations.
Watermelon Sweet Tea is a combination of Bojangles Legendary Iced Tea® and watermelon juice. The restaurant chain is giving customers a sweet opportunity to try out the new beverage with a promotion available from May 15-22.
Customers can use the cod TEATIME when checking out via the Bojangles app to get a free Watermelon Sweet Tea for the first week it is available.
The drink is described by the company as "a light and fresh taste while still delivering that legendary experience our fans know and love."
The Watermelon Sweet Tea joins several other seasonal limited-time menu items such as the Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuits and the Bo-Berry Cookies.
On May 5, National Restaurant News revealed that Bojangles was bringing back their Bo-Berry items. The Sausage Bo-Berry Biscuit is a breakfast sandwich combining the restaurant's country-style sausage patties with blueberry buttermilk biscuits that have icing drizzled over the top.
The Bo-Berry cookie is a sugar cookie stuffied with blueberries.
Upon announcing the return of the Bo-Berry items, chief marketing officer Tom Boland noted, "Bo-Berry biscuits have always been an iconic part of the Bojangles experience."
Bojangles currently has approximately 800 restaurant locations scattered across 17 states. The Bo-Berry Biscuits were first added to the Bojangles menu in 1987.
