Amber Riley Gives Thoughts on Possible 'Glee' Reboot & Mercedes Spinoff
Amber Riley isn’t interested in a Glee reboot.
The 39-year-old singer and actress, who played Mercedes in the musical television series from 2009-2015, shut down the idea in a recent interview.
“I just feel like what we did was so phenomenal, I don’t want to risk trying to reinvent the wheel.” she said on the “Monet Talks” podcast.

“We lost cast members. I just feel like the chemistry, that formula, was so specific, and it’s changed now, so I don’t know if it would be as effective,” she added, referring to the deaths of Naya Rivera, Cory Monteith, and Mark Salling.
Amber said not even a $40 million dollar contract could convince her to join a Glee reboot. However, she also said she’d be open to a spinoff series based on her character.
