Kelly Clarkson Gives Details on Jonathan Groff Being a Spitter While Performing
Jonathan Groff surely physically commits to his performances.
When the 40-year-old Broadway star appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, Kelly described the experience of seeing him in the 2006 Broadway production of Spring Awakening.
Apparently, Kelly was sitting close enough to be repeatedly hit with Jonathan‘s spit during the performance, which she referred to as “Groff sauce.”

“It wasn’t just your spit, it was your sweat. Then I felt like an inferior performer ’cause I was like, I have never worked that hard. Your whole body is into it. You are a spitter,” Kelly said.
“It’s just what happens to me when I perform,” Jonathan noted with a chuckle.
If you didn’t see, earlier this month Jonathan got nominated for another Tony Award for his new Broadway show.
