Middletown woman accused of driving drunk with 3 children in the car
FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Middletown woman is accused of driving drunk with three children in the car in the town of Fishkill. Mashiya Townsend, 30, allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.15%, per the New York State Police.
Charges
- Three counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child less than 16
- Driving while intoxicated
- Driving while intoxicated - Motor vehicle with .08 of 1% alcohol or more in blood
Troopers reported responding to a gas station in Fishkill on Sunday for reports of a disturbance around 2:44 a.m. Upon arrival, State Police interviewed a man and a woman about a possible disturbance and both claimed no argument had occurred but that they had just arrived at the gas station.
The responding troopers said they observed signs of intoxication in Townsend, the driver of the vehicle. She was administered standardized field sobriety tests and allegedly failed.
Law enforcement also reported that there were three children under the age of six years old in the vehicle at the time. They were turned over to a sober third party at the scene.
Townsend was arrested and while at the station she was found to have a 0.15% blood alcohol content, according to State Police. She was released with an appearance ticket for June 23 at Town of Fishkill Court.
