'White Lotus' Star Says She Kicked Jennifer Coolidge in the Face
During a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, White Lotus star Meghann Fahy opened up about filming the memorable beach scene in Season 2, where her character Daphne discovers a body in the ocean.
Fahy reflected on the unexpected challenges of shooting in water, saying, “It’s so much more difficult and so much more drawn out than it appears to be.” She admitted that the experience changed how she reads scripts. “Now, it’s all I think about when I read a script and there’s anything in the water," she said.
Fahy explained that the water was shallow far from shore, which meant she had to run a long distance through it during filming.

“Where we were was so far from the shore,” she said. “I was having to run through the water from where we were back to the beach.”
The scene also involved filming underwater shots with Emmy winner Jennifer Coolidge, who played Tanya McQuoid. Fahy recalled that the crew wanted a specific shot of her foot entering the frame near Coolidge’s face. “I couldn’t see where the camera or she was because of where they wanted my body to be positioned, so I was just kind of blindly feeling around,” she explained. “I did accidentally make contact with her face at one point.”
Despite the mishap, Fahy shared that Coolidge took it in stride. “She was so gracious about it,” she said. “She was like, ‘Man, you gotta do what you gotta do. Go for it.’”
