Beloved WWE Star Suffers Extremely Gruesome Leg Injury
Plans were forced to change on Monday night when a WWE wrestler suffered a brutal injury during a match.
Zoey Stark was competing against Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane on Netflix's "Monday Night Raw" when she landed awkwardly on her leg. Stark's momentum carried her in one direction, causing her leg to fold underneath her unnaturally.
Stark, usually a sure-footed and confident wrestler when it comes to performing high-risk moves, crashed awkwardly into Sane. She immediately grabbed her knee and screamed in pain, and the match was briefly stopped in order for her to receive medical attention.

Earlier in the show, WWE's commentary team mentioned that the arena in Greenville, South Carolina was unusually humid, causing wrestlers to lose their footing on slick ropes.
Stark has suffered significant knee injuries in the past - she previously tore her ACL, MCL and meniscus in WWE's developmental brand NXT. On the Netflix broadcast, commentators Michael Cole and Pat McAfee wished Stark well in recovery, and mentioned her previous knee injuries.
Ripley and Sane carried on with the match after Stark was helped backstage by WWE's medical team. Ripley won the match to qualify for the upcoming "Money in the Bank" ladder match next month in Los Angeles. After the show, she addressed Stark's injury on social media.

"Professional wrestling can be very real and dangerous… Tonight continued to prove that anything can happen. Wishing Zoey a speedy recovery!," Ripley said on X.
"I truly hope we get to face each other again when you’re ready. Wishing you a smooth recovery," Sane said, echoing a similar sentiment.
Stark began her WWE career in 2021 after spending several years on the independent circuit. She mostly wrestled under the name Lacey Ryan before changing her persona after signing with the company.
During her time in WWE, Stark has been a champion once, winning the NXT Women's Tag Team championships with Io Sky.
We'll see what the future holds for Stark after a significant knee injury, but it appears that she's set to miss a significant amount of time. Hopefully, she's able to return at 100% at some point down the line.
