Popular Rapper Rod Wave Arrested on Assault, Weapons Charges
Rapper Rod Wave was arrested Tuesday on multiple felony charges, according to reports.
Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was booked in the Fulton County jail in Georgia on Tuesday. He was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
The 26-year-old Florida-born rapper is facing a total of 13 charges stemming from an alleged incident on April 21, according to TMZ. The charges include aggravated assault, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony and pointing a gun at someone.
While law enforcement agencies have not elaborated on the details of the alleged altercation, TMZ reported that it involved Rod Wave and one of his associates.
"Here's what went down ... RW was visiting his place on April 21 with his realtors and other associates after it had been burglarized. Police say he and one of his associates got into a verbal argument as they were carrying out items from the residence ... which is when a Glock 20 10mm semiautomatic pistol was pulled and fired," TMZ says.
Rod Wave allegedly fired 14 shots and later attempted to clean up and flee the scene. His actions reportedly violated the "Street Runner" rapper's active bond order, which is related to an October 2020 battery incident.
